This week's mood board draws its elements from a single piece of media, but actually manages to sum up the week pretty well.

Yes, I went to go see The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I liked it. And no, I haven't read the books -- I keep meaning to. (I even got the whole set as a gift a couple Christmases back. Oops.) I did get the feeling that there was a fair bit missing from the movie, which isn't surprising, I guess.
So, pictured on the board are the two characters I liked the most -- Marvin the robot, and the hapless human Arthur Dent. The way my week went -- whatwith more school stuff (yech), job hunting stuff (yikes), etc. -- I could pretty much relate to them the most as well.
Anyway, on to another week.
DON'T PANIC.

I just came back from seeing this movie also, but I thought it was pretty bad. One of only a few movies I have considered leaving while it was still running.

I'm glad you liked it. I liked it too. I read the book (the first one) but I never saw the TV series, so I wasn't expecting anything like that. Everyone who says they didn't like it compares it to the TV series.

I'm planning to see this the weekend of the 21st. Being a big fan of the Douglas Adams books from twenty or more years ago, I was prepared to be disappointed. But most of the reviews I've seen have been pretty positive about the movie, and none have come right out and said that it sucked. So my expectations are a bit higher now.
I found Marvin and Arthur to be most entertaining characters (Arthur more so -- Marvin was a one-joke character and that joke was getting pretty stale by the third book). But I found that I could best relate to Ford Prefect: "The Universe can take care of itself, let's go get a drink."
