Dear People Who Ride the Subway:
You are not doing anyone any favours by standing during the ride when there are empty seats available. Why?
- Nobody can get around you, because you're blocking the aisle.
- Nobody else can sit down either, because you're blocking the empty seats.
Kindly sit your ass down and get the hell out of the way.
That goes double for you standing there in the doorway.

the other day on the bus, an older gentleman yelled out, 'sit down ya bunch of idiots!' and i thought, with a mixture of pride and horror, that will be me one day...

Heck, I once yelled at people to stop blocking the doors on a subway in Chicago. And I wasn't that old.
Someone looked at me after the people had cleared the aisles and said "Police or army?"
I smiled and said, "I'm from New York."
